They should just ban private clamping and be done with it. The Scots are way ahead of us on this one. |

While this is long overdue I think they need to be more radical Personally I would have that if ANY adjudications (both for this, private fines and for normal Council car parking fines) are found in the drivers favour then the Company / council should be made to pay the driver the cost of the fine as a penalty. In London those fines that are appealed by motorists are overwhelmingly found in the motorists favour. This shows that council just issues fines / tickets willy-nilly knowing that some people will pay up and even if it loses it has not cost them anything. If they knew that for every incorrectly issued ticket it costs them £120 (£60 if they paid up within 14 days!) then they might be more careful about issuing them |
