Any thoughts?

I don't believe that. Porn teaches very negative derogatory views about women that are passed off as normal. Games are deliberately fictitious.

Seeing as porn isn't bad for you (or at least as far is discernible) that's not hard. I imagine Eastenders is 'worse' too.

Porn and violent video games aren't inherently bad.

Games may be viewed by people who already have violent tendencies and porn may be seen by those who have derogatory views of women but they certainly don't create those people nor are violent games or porn solely played/viewed by those people.

I've seen lots of football matches on TV, that's not given me the urge nor the ability to play in the Premier league.

Porn has been proven to be addictive; and when watched in alrge amounts it can make people impotent. Nothing much really :)

You refer to the work of Judith Reisman a couple of years ago? Who was diagnosing the plight of people she's never met? Who's actually not got a medical background and is only qualified in Communications? Her and her 'erototoxins'? Clicky

Whilst I don't doubt that for some pornography can become an issue that interferes with their day-to-day life, the same can be said for almost anything. Some people get hooked up on what is merely trivial for the rest of us; the issue is with them and not the focus of their fixation.

Personally I don't think that any parent has any business letting their kid near either.

Kids shouldn't have TVs in their rooms and they certainly shouldn't have computers or consoles in there either.

No I am not one of those crazed anti pornography feminist.
I got this info from a Neuroscience book which title i completly forgot. It talked about different ways to treat things like ghost limbs, anorexia etc and also had a part on addiction. It stated that people who watch porn often get used to the situations they see and experience troubles getting aroused in usual relationships.

http://www.normandoidge.com/normandoidge/ABOUT_THE_BOOK.html I think if I remember correctly.

Interesting - the 'work' Reisman did was in about '05, Doidge was about '09.
However, seeing as the study I mentioned couldn't find a 'porn-free' man, and clearly not all of us have erectile dysfunction, maybe my point above is still valid.

Does McDonald's advertising cause eating disorders? Or is it a product of the person's psyche?
