After the VAT rise, did the corresponding fuel tax drop to help keep the prices the same, or did this just get sidelined? I ask because I am seeing a litre of petrol steadily creep up to £1.15 in places here.

LOL don't be silly. Prices jumped by about 4p in the last week or so here.
What do you think? If they'd dropped it you can bet your backside the government would have been shouting about it as some sort of tax cut and hoping nobody would nitcie it really wasn't. Instead there has been deathly silence on the issue so I suspect that they haven't in fact dropped the duty.

Nice one Paul, you just reminded me to check the HM Revenue website for Company car advisory fuel rates and sure enough it's gone up 2p for petrol 1401 - 2000cc and dates back to 1st December. So I will be resubmitting my expenses as I pay for my fuel and claim back the business miles (poor performance by the accounts dept not telling me)

Glad I helped someone save some money then.
And no, I wasn’t expecting the balance to be redressed after the VAT rise either.
