First of all, the HD freeview boxes will need to be a lot cheaper for the majority to care in the near future. And they'd probably need to do that quickly before it's included in the 'average' TV I spose ![]() Secondly, how dumb is that second paragraph? The sales of box sets aren't going to be diminished by people recording stuff at home - it's just too much hassle in the long run, and you'd need some amount of discs or HDD space for recording HD with the intent of keeping it ![]() I'm also guessing that the people who buy box sets are the dedicated fans or buying them as presents, I doubt anyone else would even keep them on the HDD once they'd watched them ![]() Also, it's all eventually gonna wind up on the net no matter what way they 'protect' it ![]() Fcuking waste of time and nothing but annoying to the customer... |

??? That would be like trying to ban the VCR in the 80's. Pointless. You should be able to record HD TV when you want. |

You can record HD now. My guess is it's just a system that will be transparent to the end user, which will allow recording for personal use, but prevent further copies being made. Much as Sony did with the MiniDisc system. You could make one digital copy of a CD, but not a copy of the copy. |
