It will have been at the start gate for some time now, just waiting for the signal.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

and full body scanners at airports are going to stop the terrorist attacks, hmm
the most heavy defended building on the planet got hit by a (so called) aircraft it is called the 'pentagon'
if that can not be defended with military might then no one stands a snow flakes chance in hell …

All the public controversy over these scanners and related privacy concerns and now suddenly that all goes out the window because G. Brown and his cronies have decided these scanners are a good idea.
These things produce naked pictures of people, I can't say I'm a fan of having my privacy so obviously violated.

Waste of time and impractical, especially as you can buy the things needed for an explosive once you've passed through security.
They seem to be trying to distract from the fact that the last guy was known to various intelligence services and the US was warned about him by his friggin' father to boot.
The only help a full body scanner would be is if we smack them over the head with it, the intelligence services that is.
Chasing our own tail springs to mind whilst not looking for an effective way to deal with the problem.

Nope, not at all. They're completely missing the point, as usual, and just doing things to appease public concerns.

That's OK - I don't fly anywhere now and gave up drug smuggling years ago

I don't have much desire to travel (haven't had a valid passport for years) and my mates are permanently broke anyway so it won't affect me personally either

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8441205.stmI'll be interested to see if there's any anecdotal evidence of this putting people off flying

"Explosion trace"? By that do they mean burning airliners or flatten houses?

It could be another BBC website cock-up, or the latest in CSI tech. We just don't know
