By their logic, the girl who sent the pics should be jailed:
1. for sending pics of herself and not expecting them to be forwarded/shown around (ie idiocy) 2. for sending naked pics of herself

What happens if he texts pictures of himself? Is that child pr0n, and thus a criminal offence?

Yes. It's even a criminal offence for a child to look in the mirror unless they poke their eyes out with a stick. The offence is "creating an indecent image" and a mirror creates an image. The same is true of some shadows, which is why children aren't allowed outside any more.

To be fair by the age of 14 you should know its wrong to text any pornographic image around. Let alone of of a 13 year old.
Though this situation shouldn't have happened in the first place, at 13/14 you should not be naked in front of your girlfriend/boyfriend.

Are you joking? Children do this throughout their teens and continue well into adulthood. I've also noticed they love to put revealing pictures of themselves as their Facebook profile photo. This sort of behaviour has been around since the 90s, and I expect it to continue. As for being naked in front of boyfriend/girlfriend at 13-14 - that's nothing. Primary school children are well known for playing "doctors and nurses" ffs.

It all depends on context Linux, from the artical it is presumed that these children are having a sexual relationship. As for the revealing pictures everyone knows its happens but that doesn't mean it should.

Unless you're Austrian, Italian or from one of several other Nations... If the BF was 21, then yeah, I could see the problem. They're the same age for frak's sake. Saying that, it's a completely twatty thing to do on the part of the ex-bf.
