Batteries are one of those things that are too troublesome to keep for recycling and are easily thrown away.

I personally would love for there to be "electronic goods" recycling where I can dump all of my old, unusable equipment.

We've been recycling them for over a decade here. Most shops have a container by the door for them (and plastic packaging).

I did wonder why there was a battery recycling bin in the doorway of Asda last week.

There will be at your local tip. Although I doubt councils make proper provision for people without tranpsort. Might be worth giving them a call though.

Yes that is true. For those who are green and do not have a car they cannot do such things.
