Politicians have urged the MPs facing charges over their expense claims not to use Parliamentary privilege to try to avoid court proceedings.

If they don't stop this from happening all the party leaders should be sacked. Its a disgrace.

Apparently that law is only in place to stop people being sues for anything they say in the House Of Commons. There is no way it should be used to prevent fraud prosecutions. These guys are just low life scum.

I doubt that you'll hear much of an argument against that statement.

64k basic salary plus many valid expenses. Why on Earth did they need any more?

I would love to see a timesheet for some MPs, afterall they are working for me.

LMAO it would be a total work of fiction. To get a days pay they only have to arrive and then depart it can be within 2 or minutes of each other.

So their defence is that they can break the law with impunity as they are an MP?

I think not.

The obvious solution is for their constituents to boot them out at the next election then prosecute them.

Actually I can support the idea of resettlement grants if you lose your seat but if you retire and/or are above pension age then why? It is should also be scaled so that it falls the closer you are to pension age.

Well given the pension they get they don't need a settlement grant thats for sure

Exactly. Plus if they are knowing they are retiring they have up to 4 years to plan for the event. More than most.

Watching the news now...amused that David Sh**face was holding a press conference, sniping at Labour when HE actually voted against the harsh reforms he is suggesting. What a useless hypocritical waste of space.
