Channel 4 to stop showing Friends in 2011. I expect a lot of people will be unhappy. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvan ... years.html

Lol, I thought this was gonna be a spoof news article or something It reminded me of a Dead Ringers sketch where Channel 4 announced the end of Friends and then declared they were closing down I stopped watching it about three or four seasons in when they made Ross weird, Monica insanely neurotic and Joey the funny one (well, they tried)

I expect those people to be marginally outnumbered by those who are overjoyed. Surely the reason they're stopping is that every single person in the UK has seen every single episode at least twice. If you're that much of a Friends obsessive, buy the DVDs. I had a quick check - there are 79 episodes of Friends on on the various Channel4 channels in the next two weeks. That's at least two hours of Friends every single day. At that rate and at an average of 22 episodes per series and 10 series of shows, they will be showing the entire run of the show every eight weeks.. Hmm. With the end of Big Brother and no more Friends, you'd probably only need to run Channel 4 on Mondays and they could all take the rest of the week off.

I am not that bothered either way. While I might watch it, I appreciate there are others who do like it. Most likely Ernies sisters! There are alternatives to TV. Real Life for example, or even turning the TV off.

Channel 4 finally wises up to the joke-free zone that is Friends.

Friends used to be funny. I didn't get into it until later in the series but even I've watched more than enough episodes. Unlike the classic simpsons episode which had multidimensional humour, this show stops being funny. I sometimes hae it on if I am truly bored or more usuall waiting for something/someone else. I will not miss this show when they finally stop airing it.

I'm happy with this decision, I like the series and they're all on DVD anyway. Means channel 4 will hopefully have more money to spend elswhere. maybe they can stop showing scrubs aswell since i've got series 1-7 on DVD aswell.

The latest series of Scrubs is not worth worrying about either.

We just need to get Sky to stop showing The Simpsons now.
