We had two in town; both are now shut. I doubt they made it past 6 months. My guess is people have other ways of spending their disposable income that's more fun and cheaper.

There was one in the midlands opposite a school entrance. I think that Truro or Falmouth had six at one point. Way too many for a small town.

Since they would be underage and would not be allowed entry and assuming the decor is not tastless and explicit, why is it a bad thing? Its not like its the red light district in amsterdam. "ooooh no! why wont someone think of the children"..

I've been to a few lapdance places and TBH they just don't "entertain" me. I went a couple of times first for the tittillation but after that it was boring and I only go if the group is going and they're gonna go somewhere else afterwards.

Truro is a city actually. And who's to say how many is too many? Surely that's something the market defines itself?

What has rugby got to do with lapdancing clubs?

300 in the UK? Well, that is a rampant problem that desperately needs looking into! I can't see the attraction myself, but I guess some people find them entertaining.

I don't think it would have been Truro with 6. There was a club that had strippers for a while; oddly when it was just a gay club no one cared (or chose to ignore it), when they did the equivalent night with girls the local rag went mental. I suspect that Newquay has most of the strip clubs in Cornwall.

Actually you are right I think it was Newquay with 6 lap-dancing clubs.

Seriously I have little interest in such clubs, but this is typically represive government.
What a bore.

Whenever this government bans something I'm always tempted to start doing it.
