Germany's problem is a shrinking population. Immigration was one way to cope with it. They've also tried promoting families with more tax breaks and 1 year off, paid, for fathers.
The National Socialist party (and other extreme parties, which encourage racial hatred) are illegal here. You can't be a member of them and they are not recognised as parties which can stand for election.
Würzburg was also badly damaged, along with many other cities.
After the war, one of the American generals wanted to leave the city a devastated waste, as a reminder to the devastation of war. But the people of Würzburg rallied and they rebuilt the city, including rebuilding all the destroyed historic buildings in their original style.
