I think that the warnings on cigarette packets were pretty effective especially the ones with photos on. Though alcohol in moderate use is not harmful. Whereas tobacco is not safe at any level. I think that warnings of alcohol are a waste of time, you get those in the tabloids every week.

There are certainly times when tobacco can be useful, and safer than some alternatives.

Warnings for alcohol.... I can see those being popular at student destinations.

If you soak tobacco in water you can use the resulting liquid as an insecticide spray. Great for aphids and safer than some man-made chemicals.

:P

I wonder if they'll actually put useful warnings on?

"Excessive consumption of alcohol can make you think you're not shouting"
"Excessive consumption of alcohol can lead to dancing like an idiot"

etc etc...

For a non smoker maybe. Most smokers went "eeeuw thats horrible" before carrying on smoking.
Health warnings on Alcohol just wont work. Nobody will believe them and it will just lead to yet another curtailing of what you are allowed to do.

Just what is a safe level of drinking? better not ask the group that originally came up with the levels for men and women because they have no idea. They settled on a number plucked out of the air because the were expected to have a number.

This is terrible!

The thin edge of the wedge. Before long we'll be paying ridiculous amounts for booze, just like fags.

Pointless. People will drink it anyway because they already know the risks and will still want it.

Most powerful stimulant legally available from supermarkets, and cheaper than red bull

That is true. I know the risks but still drink, in fact non drinking can be riskier than drinking for some conditions, though in low levels. I will still drink regardless.
