....by ensuring that the bigotted, irrational views expressed by Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor do not end up affecting the law-making powers based in the House of Lords. Please visit this petition to help Gordon Brown make the right decision and not give him the peerage he so definitely does not deserve  Incidentally, I put this in here and not the Meeting Place as I'm trying to keep my news/politics posts out of the light-hearted forums

If Labour wins the next GE the House of Lords will disappear in favour of an elected House anyway. Not sure what will happen if the Tories win, but I can't see them continuing with Lords reform unless the Lib Dems pressure them into it as part of a coalition government. |
