Bears, lynx, wolves and elk considered for reintroduction into British countryside

I can see the benefits of the wolves and lynx and even elk being reintroduced but the bear might be a bit too big plus too many brits are stupid and will be bear food.

Yay. Bring on the Elk.
Not sure about the other three as they might attack people.

Is this being put forward by the group that is also talking about reducing the human population?

We have all of those in Germany. We had a rogue bear, which needed to be put down, but it took a couple of months to catch him, he kept crossing the border into Austria and Switzerland...

Yes but a mass experiment with Darwin will be sure to ensue.

So they really shot the bear for passport violations. :D

Sounds good to me.

Might be bad for salmon stocks though

Most are farmed anyway.

Great, bring it on.
This way the public will have a genuine concrete reason that they can see and hear (unlike some speculative poor weather forecast) to learn about the environment they're entering.

I just worry that the size of our woodlands are too small to bring the bear and wolves back.
Plus the wolves need to eat something, suppose deer and rabits will do.
Wolves and bears will stay well away from people unless provoked or scared.

But will we be able to answer that age old question of what they do in the woods? ;)

I'll get my coat.
