Much more interesting is the story that Gerry 'evil scumbag' Adams is going into therapy, ostensibly over his brother and dad being paedos, but I wouldn't be surprised if his da had touched him up and/or Gerry's finally realised that thousands of people died for absolutely nothing.... |

I don't know quite why but I though Ian Paisley died a few years ago. Maybe it was when he stood down as Ni first minister and he hasn't been as visible on the TV since. |

It will be used as he defence for any possible crimes. "I only did it because I was traumatised by my paedo dad and brother" defence. I never liked the man. Regardless of the cause. Ian Paisley whiles a noisy odious buffoom was at least fun (see spitting image) |

+1 to that, but Paisley was never the tit he came across as, it just got him where he wanted to be (which is even worse when you think about it) ![]() |

But did that really help his constituents in the end, I think he was tolerated or even ignored much of the time. He was a hindrance when it came to the peace process. |

No idea about his constituents but they continually elected him, and it's obvious a heck of a lot of people in Ulster voted for him as leader of the DUP. Regarding the peace process, it turned out he was the only one who could really oversee and sell a deal with the IRA to his own people, ironically. Once you got down to the detail I mean. |

I thought that Trimble was the one who made it all happen. As for them reelecting him, that is what happens here in safe seats. You could shag a goat on live TV and still win. |

Well, it was Trimble who did all the leg work which Paisley/DUP ridiculed to the extent that the UUP pretty much imploded, stepped in, and completed it - to my mind, they only got away with it because of the stature of Paisley and Adams in their respective communities (even Adams lost a lot of support in the States). Both got their legacies after abusing the people who actually got them to that point (the SDLP in SF's case). Reelection isn't a guarantee over here if sex is involved actually - being tainted by his wife could lose Robinson his jobs if he even decides to stand again ![]() |

I used to live in London with a Ulster catholic from Antrim who coincidentally was born in the same hospital as me. Anyway he was telling me all about the IRA. That they wanted a united SOCIALIST Ireland. We all laughed at how stupid the Americans were. You only have to see how much hatred they have for socialism re health reform that they failed to see that the IRA were socialist. Robinson is in a sorry state. I expect his wife will lose her seats when they come up for re-election. |

The funny thing is he's said to be great on a personal level, and to give you an idea, has prayed with top Shinners and so on. The press didn't put the boot in as often as they'd have been justified either ![]()
Completely, short of an appearance on Oprah etc, and I don't rule out anything these days ![]() |
