Gyrocopter pilot 'cleaved hunt supporter's head from top to bottom' http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... ottom.htmlIf you do not duck when propeller blades are swinging then that really should be suicide. Also standing in front of an aircraft taking off is pretty stupid.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Yes the pilot is legally responsible of the aircraft, so deliberately continuing when you know someone there is wrong. On the other hand deliberately walking into the line of a moving aircraft is a stupid thing to do no matter what point you're trying to make.

Doesn't sound like the pilot was trying to avoid any problems. Mind you I wasn't there and as there is a video of the incident will quite happily let the jury decide.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yes but if someone who is not authorised tries to detain you that is unlawful detention. While his death is unfortunate, if you stand in the way of a moving vehicle you are a fool. If the Autogyro had to pull up suddenly because of his actions that would put the propeller lower and into the general area of the head. The person took no appropriate action. It should be death by misadventure not manslaughter.

My interpretation of the article was that he was hit by the propulsion propeller, not the lift propeller (or what ever it is called), and that video of the incident shows that the speed of the propeller increased after the gyrocoptor was blocked from take-off. There is no real mention of whether the gyrocopter was already moving at a substantial rate but I don't think you can say someone standing in front of a possibly stationary vehicle to be the same as jumping in front of a moving one. Also, preventation to take off probably wouldn't be classed as detention.

Yes that is my view. The propulsion propeller fell lower as it climbed. The two unpowered propellers that give the life barely reach any high speeds.

Well he has been found not guilty as I thought he would. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cove ... 571913.stmShe was mislead by the police, that her partner was killed by manslaughter. This was an accident from the start.

Or how about... its not for pro-hunt extremists to go to an airfield to block the take-off of an aircraft which they have absolutely no right to do. I dont abolish the pilot of all blame but stand infront of an aircraft of any sorts after deliberately driving to an airfield to block its path and what might you think the bloody outcome will be!!
