As the article mentioned race as well, then is nigger now acceptable, as long as you are éxpressing' yourself of course?

Won't make a blind bit of difference at the end of the day as no matter what your orientation you'll be called gay on a regular basis. It might actually make it worse.

I think this is absolutely retarded. Stating orientation will open up abuse from other gamers but also misuse of th ability by nasty gamers. Hell, on PS some brat was taking the mick out of another player for having "sitrep" in their gamertag.

IMO if you have gaming websites dedicated to homosexuals, that should be enough for them to exchange gamertags to stay in contact and play with each other.

I can imagine the retorts now...

American kid after being killed for the 5th time in a row by some other guy: "You gay fag!"

Other guy (sarcastically): "Well done! You were able to read my profile!"

Don't you think that you should rephrase that? ;)

Or the super l33t change their profiles to include gay, homo etc. and build up their kill count by killing scores of homophobic rednecks!

:D

BTW I've got no idea why which sex somebody fancies should alter where they play computer games. If I trade my girlfriend for a guy, I'll still be [lifted] at games.

I say things all the time without thinking, and there are other funnier meanings. It was not a dig at you.

Why does anybody care about what sexual orientation someone is or What gender they have identified with.
I don't see why people want to display such orientation on Xbox live.
And again what I don't get is why people can't take a bit of immature abuse from some game player.
People are getting too soft.

by my understanding its not just "a bit" of abuse, people are being chased off servers and having their accounts hacked/ mailed with threatening e-mails etc. id definitely never do anything of this sort: these are people who i will never meet again (unless by chance), and have no interest in their social lives or sexual habits whatsoever, not that id do it to people in real life either, many of my friends are openly gay. Anyone who thinks they do are just plain ignorant, and probably American/12 years old. Must say i have never ever experienced anything like this, but then i do have my game filters set to "europe only"
