Quote:
In preparation for a potential heatwave this summer, people need to make sure they have a fair weather friend they can call on for aid, officials advise.

It says homeowners can stay cool by painting their houses white and planting shrubs for shade.

*groans*

Bloomin' summer....*sigh* only another five or six months before we get more agreeable, cooler weather again...
It wouldn't be so bad, but I've got to wear trousers to work...Not my bright floral shorts...

I'd rather it didn't, as I'm going to be stuck in London.
It can start in August, AFAIK!

if they predict a heatwave then you can almost guarantee it'll p!ss it down the entire summer... [I hope it does... can't stand hot weather...]

You bunch of TG moaners! The sun is gorgeous and makes us feel good. If it happens to get hot as a result of it being out, so be it.

I don't mind the sunshine as yes, it does make me happier. But it's the heat that comes with it, the sweaty feeling, feeling lethargic and sleepless nights.
As soon as the winter comes around, with bright, crisp mornings, that's when I feel great, I've cycled and walked the six miles to work in all sorts of weather, and by far the best is a bright icy morning.

Well I'm sorry to hear that guys. It's so freakin rare in this country that I like to celebrate it. Sure London gets a bit much in August / September. Do you guys not have nice beaches near you where you can go catch the breeze  ;)

I wish, back home it's a two hour drive made into three or four hours (as everybody want a piece of the beach) to get to our nearest...
I must admit, summer in Aber is great, I love lying out in the sun...But my current job has me sitting in an office without AC or openable windows, and it gets rather warm...
:)

I live less than 500 yards from the nearest beach, and I work right next to it (well, crappy summer job) so I'm sorted. :P

I think I’ll sit it out in my car with the aircon running.

I’ll sit out the winter in my car with the heated seats on.

In fact, I think I’ll just live in my car. Apart from toilet breaks.

So, how long do you reckon until the hosepipe ban starts? 3 weeks, maybe two...
