Well it's not like it would interfere with their job, which is a pretty big reason for people who try to avoid service.

Yes and they allow people to get away with claiming that they are unable to do it for business reasons. I cannot see why they have an upper age limit. As long as they are not senile that should be fine. That said I have a permanent get out of jury service card, my amnesia.
