most of that was caused by the governments directive on moving departments out of London :D

They simply did not think things through. No joined up thinking from Tony Blair. :shock: :D

Personally I'd like to know how much HMG spends on re-branding.

For example, we had the DTi, then "BERR" and now "BIS".

TBH these really should be discussed with the opposition parties to ensure that they will not simply reorganise the departments when they get into power. The old Home Office was very large and unmanageable but did it really need to be broken up? Have you seen the size of cabinet meetings? Do they need that many ministers? I sometimes wonder if the changes are simply to create new posts for ministers.
