From the experience I had I agree, more should be done.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yes but if they got GP's to get people walking more before sending them to the psychiatrist, that might help. I was advised to walk each day. It worked for me. Though after checking the drawbacks of my amnesia that was all that they could offer me. It has worked for me though.
