If it costs around £40 for 16GB how come it costs £145 for 32GB, I really want one of these so I can get all my music on my phone, but I wouldn't even pay the £40. |

It costs so much, because it is a new implementation of the technology and has to pack in over twice the number of transistors into the same space as the previous model. That means a lot of R&D and a new manufacturing process. Prices will drop, as the process become more common and they can ramp up production. |

All new technology costs a fortune at first, then comes down rapidly in price. It is the same with SSD, they are getting cheaper all the time. Just buy into the technology when it comes down to a price that suits you. Some will buy earlier because the benefits are worth it for them and they may have a bigger budget. |

It was a rhetorical question, but I appreciate the answers anyway, it's just unusually in this crazy world of technology this would be a genuinely useful product for me. At least it will be when the price comes down, by which time I'll probably have had several new phones and still require whatever the equivalent new storage technology is. |

Only buy it if and when it fits your needs and budget. If too expensive then get something else. I try and avoid paying crazy prices for things if I can help it. |

I heard that, I set a budget for stuff then stick to it, right now I'm struggling to get an external hard drive with esata and firewire 800 for less than £100, so I'm going to wait, hopefully the pound will strengthen in the next month or so. |
