Stripping is the least offensive option. I think that the numbers of girls going into prostitution are growing, probably for the same reason. Student debts can be substantial, stripping or prostitution can be relatively well paid for a young woman without taking up too much study time. One night in a lap dancing club can net several hundred pounds, which they could not get on minimum wage in several weeks working full time. By working so little they do not harm their studies, but can make enough money to get through university without any financial problems.

Especially if they were to want a job under public scrutiny.

Wouldnt they be under public scrutiny by stripping

what a state the public funded/grant maintained education system has become

And been happening for decades. I remember seeing interviews with American students who worked the clubs way back in the 80s.

I confess to being rather hypocritical when it comes to stripping. On one hand, provided the club is well run then the girls are safe and they can make a lot of money in a small amount of time. Many find it quite enjoyable and "empowering", and a part of me would very much like to see them in action.

On the other hand, I'd be mortified if my (hypothetical) teenage daughter was stripping.

Yes I remember it in the 80'. They were known as Tebbits or Thatchers girls because they got on their bike to get work. This was the time of the "Have it away days"


It might be empowering, but it can also have a detrimental impact on their relationships with men. They come to treat all men as walking wallets and think less of them. You have to be mentally strong to cope. Many girls even if they are gorgeous cannot strip, it is unnerving for them.
