This will give homegrown players DSGi and Comet their most serious competition for years. Is it too much to ask for a price war? Just a little one?

I remember a good few years back my brother bought two 28 inch widescreen CRTs, a PS2, extra games and a few smaller items I cant remember. When asking the Currys salesperson what his 'best price' was he simply replied 'whatever it says on the ticket'. It was explained they we're the cheapest place locally so they couldnt (or simply dont need to) do anything on the price. I wonder if this is still the case now Internet shopping is as big as it is? Maybe Best Buy really could add some good competition.

Unless its cheaper in the local area (normally 10 miles) the ticket price is the price, the only website we match is currys.co.uk. (a good way to get free delivery if you would rather buy in store).

I went to Best Buy in Texas. It was okay, but nothing special. A bit like Comet here.

It will also have to compete with Amazon etc. though I doubt that the price savings will be as great as hoped for as they will be buying or renting property which is still over priced and this will raise their fixed costs. We can all hope that they will bring some competition.

We had a Best Buy in Billings, it was brilliant and we saved so much money using their Price Match guarantee...hope that comes across the pond with them 8-)
