Quote:
First Minister Peter Robinson has denied that he did anything wrong when he bought a piece of land next to his home from a developer for £5.

Quote:
A professional valuation carried out for the BBC put the strip's value at upwards of £75,000 when Mr Robinson and his wife obtained it, and at least £220,000 when they sold it.

I think that he might be in a little bit of trouble over this.

They really are clutching at straws over this though, I mean it's completely dodgy looking, but it's the sort of thing that comes down to technicalities, and Westminster isn't about to let the Assembly be effectively implicated over those just before an election...

It's no wonder he's accusing the BBC of all sorts if this sort of complicated thing is what they're trying to draw public attention to; he knows damn well not enough people will understand it, never mind give a crap

I would expect that he is trying to brazen this out hoping that this will blow over. Unlikely though. Eventually when more details come out and it looks even more damaging then he will resign and still scream that he was hounded out of his job by the BBC. Do the protestant community actually think that he is still serving their interests? When he and his wife are looking more and more corrupt at every turn. It might be what is needed to clean up Ulster politics.

I'm not sure the Protestant community ever really liked Robinson, but he was Paisley's deputy and up until recently they were seen as the real opposition to SF/IRA (all of which is obviously a joke these days).

Speaking of SF/IRA, in the grand scheme of things and First Minister or not, Robinson's small fry in terms of dodgy financial dealings ;)

I used to live with a Catholic from Derry who told me the low down on the IRA. It is all a front for organised crime. They can get better conditions as a political prisoners than ordinary criminals. The provos were just the same.
