So 3D has got about five years to find a standard before the next generation of consoles come out. If there's no standard by then 3D gaming just won't happen for the masses. |

I don't know how consoles work, but for computers we've had the various 3D standards for many many years. Any OpenGL 3D game renders in 3D space and can be displayed in 3D. That goes all the way back to Doom over a decade ago! I've had 3D goggles for about 7 years, although I've only ever used them a couple of times. There's no reason why other hardware shouldn't support the existing standards. |
