While it's obviously true things like the civil service could be scaled back, I also believe that whoever forms the next government will almost certainly keep useless management while the average worker gets shafted, almost inconsequential of how efficient they were :evil:

And yes, it kinda rings true that we'll happily prop up the banks but not our own citizens, doesn't it?

Yes I can see there being strikes as well. If Cameron wins he will try and do a Thatcher and try to break the unions.

its not the unions that need breaking, its the 'so called' management that needs to be broken …

I actually think that they could actually get rid of many of their middle managers and recruit those with a track record. You could thin out management quite considerably in many areas of the public sector. Far too often they promote from within even if the person is incompetent.
