Doesn't sound right, does it? But then would you be surprised with the sort of people stupid enough to use the phrase 'petty gossip' in the context of endemic child abuse?

There was a Catholic apologist, Bill Donohue, on American chatshow Larry King last week, along with Sinéad O'Connor.

He argued that there was no paedophilia in the Catholic Church, at least not widespread! His argument? When the boy had been through puberty, it was no longer paedophilia, it is just homosexuality and it is the gays fault!

Sinéad was totally outraged and tried to get the guy to say when boys in America were considered post-pubescent in America. He said 12 or 13!

I really don't get this argument at all. At the end of the day, someone had to kill him for the "dying for our sins" part to happen. Shouldn't they be a bit more grateful to the Jews for causing this?!?!?

Now that we have had one bishop comparing it to the suffering of the Jews and another blaming the Jews, how long before we get another blaming the Jews for the Holocaust?

There is absolutely nothing linking this to any other religion. This is a completely internal matter, apart from the child abuse which is a criminal matter.
