Bi - two
Poly - more than one

You can use either Bi or Poly in this case.

He is lucky. He could have had to pay two sets of divorce settlements, but being out of prison he has two partners to appease. :D

Is the second marriage valid, wouldn't it just be annulled?

Yes the second one will be annulled. He will still have to appease both women somehow.
