The UK economy will remain stuck in the doldrums this year with growth of 1% or less predicted in 2010, a leading forecaster has warned.
The Ernst & Young ITEM Club, which uses the Treasury's economic model for its forecasts, said the immediate prospects for the UK were "dismal".

It does make you wonder what prospects the Tories have of making cuts and not causing another recession.

And yet the Treasury predicts very different results with the same economic model ;)

Very rarely. It does depend on assumptions in their models. The Treasury have been pretty accurate recently.

The Treasury makes the same conclusion but the Minister will try and gloss over the bad bits and highlight any glimmer of hope.
