That looks more like a horseshoe crab to me than a scorpion

When you read the article it does say it's related to modern-day scorpions and horseshoe crabs.

Still gives me the heebiejeebies. I don't like things with that many legs all joined together in a knobbly knot underneath. Eek!

Horseshoe crabs are so old that they have blood based on copper rather than iron that most animals have. They were about before the dinosaurs. :shock:
