I don't really see what this has to do with Labour or whichever party is in government, the gypsies will always do their own thing with disregard to the law and neighbours.

The Torygraph quoting the Daily Fail. :?

There was some hooha around Blackmore about gypsies setting up a massive site. Blown out of all proportions because in reality there is already a site, and the intention was to add a couple more pitches to it. Local media rather enjoyed bigging the problem up to apocalyptic proportions.

The law allowing gypsies to ride roughshod over planning laws came from the Department for Communities and Local Government - Labour, in other words. Why should they be treated differently.

Oh, and the paper it's published in makes no difference - unless you believe that they print what the parties tell them to.

It's more that the papers print whatever supports the agenda it is they wish to advance and things like 'truth' and 'details' are a secondary consideration to that.

Human rights legislation always takes precedence over any other form of domestic law, it cannot be any other way unless you are willing to do away with human rights altogether.

As for what part of which human rights law is actually involved, well unfortunately the journalist involved was too lazy to tell us. So at present we lack sufficient information to sensibly judge the matter and must all resort to knee jerk reaction.

Not only that but the author manages, rather unhelpfully, to conflate Gypsies and Travellers. The two really aren't the same.
