Ah, Romford… I actually can’t make out what is being said at the start of this footage, but it certainly gets a little more rough than normal election campaign activities. Is he calling them “robbers”? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/ ... 663681.stm |

Yeah, it sounded like 'How many of you are robbers?' I hope that vid gets more prominence, it's definitely been an election highlight for me ![]() Wouldn't it be great to see Gordon in such a fight ![]() |

That's pretty shocking. Of course, we don't know what's happened before this footage, but the BNP guy seemed more than up for a fight. He kicked two different people while they were down on the floor. ![]() |

Last general election, two candidates - both of whom were of Indian or Pakstani extraction, since I live in a pretty mixed area so it's not just the BNP that are idiots - came to blows right outside my house, which happens to be next to the polling station. They both had vans with louspeakers on and were rolling round the area broadcasting slogans and what have you, which always seemed a pretty good way to get people not to vote for you to me, but anyway. So they're in the vans and they both roll up to the polling station at the same time. The polling station officer comes out and tells them that they aren't allowed to canvas within a certain radius of the polling station and they should both go away or he'd have to call the police. The two candidates then engage in a very loud 'He started it - No, HE started it' kind of playground thing and eventually end up scuffling in the street as bemused voters look on. Me, I wasn't voting for either of them anyway but if I'd been undecided that would pretty much have swayed me. I don't think I really want a bloke as an MP who a) doesn't even know the laws related to elections and b) thinks it's acceptable to get in a punch up with one of his opponents in the street. Jon |

A bit of pushing and shoving is all we've had recently, though it's been alleged by a high-ranking informer that Gerry Adams once considered whacking John Hume with the intention of taking an electoral advantage ![]() |
