James Cameron wants more money spent on 3D TV shows

Live 3D
To remedy this, Cameron is hoping that TV producers forgo their concerns about money and focus on creating 3D content, explaining: "There's not going to be the time or the money to convert [2D to 3D]. It's going to have to be shot live.
"We're going to learn how to do live shooting. The cost will come down on live 3D production.
"You've got the channel, you've got the sets… the missing piece is content. You've got to get the content."
Cameron is one of the few directors who can speak with confidence about 3D, considering his three-dimensional opus Avatar is officially the highest-grossing film of all time.
Saying that, it was also one of the most expensive films to make, due to the fact the 3D technology he used was created from the ground up.
Sony, LG, Samsung and Panasonic will be pleased that Cameron is still tub-thumping for 3D, as these are the main companies who have invested heavily in bringing 3D TVs to the market. | | | | |

Well, James Cameron has enough money himself so why doesn't he put his cash where his mouth is?

He's by no means broke (or at least he shouldn't be), but IIRC he spent a small fortune of his own cash on everything from the Titanic dives, to Linda Hamilton in the divorce, to the 3D rigs for filming Avatar. There was some sort of 'he doesn't get paid 'til we've made our money back' deal there I believe, though it obviously worked out _________________Plain English advice on everything money, purchase and service related:

He will look a fool when 3D fails to take off. It is a fad but for someone who has so much invested in the technology he cannot accept that. Deluded, as are plans for an Avatar sequel.

His last foray into TV land was good, but failed to be a commercial success. An attempt to rescue it in series 2 was flawed, and Dark Angel was axed.

Did Cameron actually have anything to do with The Sarah Connor Chronicles? I've said this before and I'll say it again, I caught only a few minutes of Dark Angel, and what I saw reminded me of Prisoner Cell Block H with it's wobbly sets. I never even looked at the show again. Mark
