Is it just me or do others think it's unacceptable to assault people on our streets, whether they are politicians canvassing or otherwise. It's way past time that we made it clear that throwing eggs, paint, flour or other things at people isn't acceptable.

John Prescott had the right idea at the 2005 election. He just didn't hit the guy hard enough !!

I think that eggs are a sign that the politician has messed up in some way. I certainly think that stabbing the MP is totally unacceptable. Abuse and eggs are all that should be thrown at politicians. Knives and punches are unacceptable even if it were the BNP.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Or rather, the eggs are what messes up a politician in some way...

Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Mark? That not getting re-elected is a sign that a politician has messed up? :?

What about ultra safe seats. Even Hazel Blears got reelected even with the mud that was still dripping off her after the expenses scandal. In those cases eggs?
