Well that may be the case here, but I'm not sure how French law applies to the situation. Of course it's still ridiculous, stopping a company naming a product because it happens to be your name is absurd (with the exception of celebrity names etc, where it might be construed as an endorsement).

Well in that case it was not only a business usage of a registered trade mark, but it was the exact same area of business too. The argument was - rightly in my opinion - the situation might mislead consumers.
