I honestly think it's being over-sold, and many people don't get just how restrictive the science is. Entanglement requires that both particles be processed at a single location prior to sending the particles to their final destination. That's almost completely unlike "teleportation" as we would want it for transportation. The primary application of entanglement is for encrypted messaging. What makes it so useful for encryption is that there can be no undetected eves dropping, because as soon as one person observes the state of one particle it can not be un-seen. |

It will make it easier to have ultra secure communication. Especially to ensure that the BPI are not watching my torrents. ![]() For teleportation the computing power to transport people with trillions of atoms will still be beyond current technology for a while. |

I wouldn't worry about the computing power just yet. We can't teleport a single atom. Not even a proton. Not a measly electron; they're talking about single photons which incidentally have zero rest mass. My rest mass is infinitely more than that... |
