"The 5in touchscreen device is billed as a halfway house between smartphones and tablets..."
Is there a halfway house between those two? I mean, I can see where a tablet would fit in between smartphones and laptops, but between smartphones and tablets? Talk about a niche within a niche...
Doesn't even sound like it's going to be particularly cheap, either - and presumably you'll need a 3G contract if you want to use it as a phone?

It is going to be around £500 plus and for an Android phone? I cant see it selling very well. Maybe a few thousand to those wanting a large screen phone with internet access. Mainly to those that can write their own apps.

Apparently it has the same 800x480 screen resolution as the HTC. So, basically it's a smart phone for visually impaired people with fat fingers?

I think that makes it 1/3 of the way between a smartphone and a netbook right? It seems to me that the nearest parallel is with the iPod touch. It may do phone things but to me the phone aspects don't seem the major point - it's a pocketable computer more than a phone.

I have seen a video on Gizmo and it juts looks like a large smartphone. Nothing really special. It will appeal to Android users but that is about it. Not overly impressed.
