Yes, VM couldn't even keep me on the same offer I'd been on for the last five years, so I now get a much better service with O2...

In fact, if perchance someone from VM is reading this, can I suggest you wind your fcuking necks in? Might stop that 'churn' we hear so much about

Especially if you are with Virgin and do not have a BT phone line. BT rip you off reactivating the line. What would be better is a simple law that means that banks energy companies ISP and telcos have to put you on the best deal without hindrance. At the moment they make a lot of money from peoples accounts being discontinued and the holders dropping to rates that are practically zero, and that was before the low interest rates.

We've never had any bother in any way switching, but as Amnesia suggests, the BT line is a potential hurdle (mostly due to their incompetence)...

You can be charged by BT if you switch from a LLU provider as well.
As far as I can tell if you've been off BT's network for more than a month then if you want to switch back then you get hit with the full line provision charge (about £150 I think).

Someone needs to sort out bt they are crippling the country, the sheer amount of revenue they generate, you'd expect more investment. I understand it's not an overnight job to upgrade the lines but they seem to be holding off until the government pay for it or make the license fee pay.

BT get off your arse we want more!

Not going to get it for a while though - something called "shareholders" get in the way wanting their dividend.
