Aussie Government's Plans to Filter Internet

Of the 80k people who have voted so far, 99% do not want the government to filter the internet. So much for government representing the people if this goes ahead.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

What worries me is if this goes ahead, what kind of message is our government going to take from it? I wouldn't put it past our parliament to consider something similar should the Aussies be successful. The Lib Dems have already done a nice little u-turn regarding the Digital Economy Bill :x

The Aussie government and it's policy units are fcuking terrible when it comes to classification of material

But that is politicians reverting to type once elected. Now all those manifesto pledges will be downgraded to aspirations. Cleaning up politics? Sorry we have to deal with the economic crisis and line our own pockets. Though the tories will find that their base will desert to UKIP if they carry on like Labour did. The fact that Labour ignored its base meant that it went off track for many supporters.
