It was porn that made VHS the winner, but whether Sony said no I am not so sure. I am surprised that they did not get behind HD DVD. Though will they sue Sony and Apple if they are refused access to their streaming services?

Eh? Why would they? The rival to HD DVD (namely Blu-Ray) is Sony's!

Yes but before the HD format war was over I am surprised that neither camp flirted with the porn studios. It would have made a huge difference to either camp.

It was Sony agreeing to letting the porn industry release movies on bluray which finally killed hd-dvd.

On what grounds? It's a private company's service and they can place whatever restriction on it they like.

I thought that it was Warner Studios that was the last big studio to decide that clinched it?

Is this the same Sony which will be releasing an addition to their console which features a glowing red ball on the end of a shaft which you grasp tightly in your hands while wagging it up and down?

I really don’t want to imagine the damage you could cause yourself if they combined it with 3D…
