http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/politics/10303473.stmIf Abbott ever stood a chance, it's gone now Oh yes, why, if she was any more neutral she'd be in Sweden...

Abbot is one of the most annoying, patronising MPs I've ever had the misfortune of hear speaking.

I can't even stand her on Andrew Neill's show - it's bad when Michael Portillo comes off as the least slimy person there

Diane Abbot has no chance of becoming leader, thus ensuring Harman retains the highest level woman in the Labour party and keeps her influence.. or am i just being too cynical?

No but the left will reassert control over the party especially as the Tories decimate industry to support the banks. Gradually the public will realise the right have nothing to add to the debate. Though she is not necessarily the right person to lead the party. I also watch "This Week" and I do not think that she is the slimiest on the show. That usually is reserved by Andrew Neil. Portilllo actually is far less radical than he used to be when in power so he is much more tolerable. He and Diane are not that different. Diane took a lot of flak for sending her son to a private school. Yet her reasons were valid.
