No specific logo so they have gone after the colour. Also no chance of seeing if the orange colour is normally used by 'The Brewery' as the BBC decline to mention them, even though they quite happily mention Budweiser. The cynic in me says this is because the BBC are broadcasting games.

Disregard that last part, it was Bavaria.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Also I think that Orange is the national colour. So to ban it could be racist. Though how often has a product or brand wrapped itself in the national colours? Loads.

I don't think Bavaria uses orange, and without logos on the clothing I don't see why FIFA made such an issue from it.

The first thing I would do if I was representing the women is sue the stadium, FIFA and the police for possible unlawful detention. Also for compensation regarding the cost of the tickets, hotels and flights. Unless the tickets made it very clear that no other branding will be allowed in other than official sponsors then FIFA could be liable. Then there would also be discrimination against these women and why not every other person wearing brand clothes and not any other brand.

They were taken to a FIFA office where police quizzed them about the dresses and asked if they worked for Bavaria Beer.

What is the police doing getting involved in what is clearly a civil matter, or does South Africa criminalise such activities?

Apparently ambush marketing is a crime in South Africa.

wasnt it insisted by FIFA that it became a criminal offence. Similar IIRC that the Olympic comittee insist that any host nation ensures that its also protected by criminal law from such henious acts!

And we WANT to host the World Cup here? When I say “we” I don’t necessarily include people in this group - just the country in general.

Looks like the brewery company is getting millions in free advertising thanks to FIFA. Well done, did you get your tactics straight from the record companies?

TBH I was thinking that too, I wouldn't be surprised if it was at the behest of FIFA. Big brands/labels/companies love it when the state steps in to protect their rights for them, for obvious reasons.
