http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Busine ... 2171?f=rss I expect nothing less from the likes of Greenwash, but the Yanks really need to give it a rest - I'm currently more pissed off with the BS rather than BP ![]() |

Oh, oh, oh! Has Mr President taken any time out to be with his family recently? How dare he! Has Mr Hayward not instructed those below him on what needs doing? Is he supposed to hold his breath and dive to the leak himself? It's mid-term election year in the US. All this bluster is electioneering added to a disaster. I do think the US needs to wind their neck in a bit. |

Exactly Heather. Given that Dick Cheney part own the drilling company, it sounds like they are trying to shift the blame anyway. BTW Heather, how did you get on with No Agenda? |

I've got a selection of back issues I'm working through. I am quite enjoying them, but finding a suitable time slot to listen without breaks is proving troublesome. |

I have been thinking this guy should grow a pair. The yanks will roll over him if he keeps lying down. That's the polite version. OK it's bad and "shouldn't have happened", but is was a US subsidiary company running the show as far as I have heard. He cannot be responsible and know all the details of every operation. |

If the priority was running around finding out who had the solution rather than who had the problem, then this may well have been sorted. |

That's so very true in so many scenarios. Unfortunately, most people believe the short term well-being of their own arse is far more important than the long term health of the planet / society / company / you / that little baby crying because it's been poisoned by toxic landfill pollution / global extinction. |

Dick Cheyney and Halliburton have too much influence in the US political system, so they are diverting the finger away from themselves, leaving BP to clean up the mess and Obama to look like a powerless idiot... ![]() Given America's general population's inability to think for themselves, instead of being spoon-fed by media, and the media's increasing lack of integrity and increasing bias, they are likely to get their way... |

And their position in world politics will command even more ridicule and less respect than it does already... It's truths like this that make them want to switch off the internet. Luckily, they can't. Oh wait, wrong thread ![]() |

What is the quote? You can't put your foot down if you don't have a leg to stand on. I think America is very close to being in this position. Indeed, it is already in so many areas. |

I believe there is still a toxic legacy from Bhopal. I wonder how many holidays the executives of Union Carbide and following responsible companies have had in that time. |

There are a couple of possibilities though one would mean losing all the oil that is down there. |
