Doesn't seem too interesting 'til you get to the bottom and realise how political it got :o

Quote:
"With that in mind we made a full and final offer to her several weeks ago and made it clear we would not be entering into a bidding war with other channels," the BBC said.

"Christine is still unable to make a decision and therefore we have regretfully withdrawn our offer as we have to put the interests of The One Show audience first and the current uncertainty does not allow us to do that," it added.

It is good that they did not cave in to a bidding war. I am sure that the BBC can find someone who wants the chance to host a TV show.

I must admit I quite liked her until I read about this long-drawn out bidding war and her allegedly sacking her manager by text, I've suddenly gone off her.

As an aside, I can't believe how far Adrian Chilles has gone on so little talent. I just find him incredibly tedious to watch. I certainly won't be tuning into GMTV when he starts later this year, even if Christine does joins him.

I quite liked Chiles when he worked on Working Lunch. His dry humour fitted nicely.

As to Bleakley, well, who cares? We've never managed to watch a whole One Show, and don't plan on doing so.

I'm sure it would be easy to find someone just as capable for modest wages.

Definitely. I am sure that there are a million wannabe TV presenters who would jump at the chance of presenting a 7pm show on BBC1, and will do it for far less.

Yes but you have got to let the BBC know that you are available, and interested. ;)
