Wonder how long it'll be before that sort of information gets into the hands of insurers...

If it does and affects peoples ability to get insurance then there should be legal action against the insurers. If someone does a genetic test to determine their risk to a condition then yes the insurers should have details, Though if the tests are done and the patient has no knowledge of the results then they should not be penalised for their DNA.
