The BBC has revealed that the PS3 version of iPlayer will be updated this year.

Speaking to our chums TechRadar at the Facebook Developer Garage in London, BBC's Simon Cross revealed that the Sony console will also receive a feature update and mentioned a 'For You' section which compiles shows that you may be interested in.

Cross also spoke about problems relating to signing into the application and suggested the possibility of integrating the process into PSN.

"We don't know whether to integrate it with the PSN signing in process or do something new," said Cross.

When pushed on the possibility of an Xbox 360 version of the iPlayer, Cross said it was not happening at the moment but he's hopeful.

"It's great what has been done with Facebook on Xbox Live, so I hope something similar can be done with the iPlayer," he said.
