£270 for a ticket? got to be kidding. I don't tgink I would even think about paying more than £100 for a concert or show, and it would have to be an awesome one for that. And I'm comfortably off. Kids and younger people wouldn't be able to afford that much, they might pay it but they shouldn't. |

Paul McCartney just sold 100 tickets for a pre-show soundcheck gig going for £800 a pop. The tickets included a three course meal, drinks, as well as the official show, the use of a VIP suite and collectable goodies, but still, at £800 that's one hell of a price to pay for what is essentially just a night out, for one. Not surprised really. The whole point of a soundcheck is you sound crap until the end of it. |

Yes but will you go alone? This would amount to a private show for a few people and many would pay for that, he was a Beatle after all. Though very few artists would even be able to get away with this. |

IIRC, the recent GNR tickets worked out around £60 - I wouldn't even have paid that if Slash had been there FFS ![]() |

Axl being absent might be the best things about the gig tbh. |

You quibble over £60 to see GnR. I quibble over spending money, any money, on Paul McCartney. The last gig I went to was £30 a ticket, and that was organised directly by the band, via the fan mailing list. Didn't matter if you were seated or standing, it was £30, no booking fee, no hidden extras. |

I paid £18.50 for a ticket to see the Black Keys at the roundhouse the other day - plus £6 on a coach ticket. A fair price I think. |

That sounds very fair. If more bands charged sensible prices they could sell out every night. |

With the advent of 360 deals and companies like LIvenation, more and more bands have no control over there gigs and the pricing. As the record companies have seen the decline of there revenue from sales of cd etc they have seen the amount bands can earn from gigs and merchandise and they want that money. regardless of what the band wants. |
