IE9 jumps to 83/100 in Acid 3 test
If they are implementing features in the order that they are most commonly used, that is good, as long as they continue, until they are 100% compliant... I tried the preview and ran it against Chrome and Firefox. Interestingly, on a couple of the tests, Firefox outshines Chrome, in terms of JavaScript performance! But both are way behind IE9 in terms of page rendering speeds. |

So Microsoft might actually produce a decent browser? I'll believe it when I see it. |

Unlikely. 83/100 in Acid3 is no great shakes when Chrome and Safari already get 100. MS can leverage their own OS to improve the performance of their browser, but it is going to be Windows-only, so its irrelevant to me. Chrome and Firefox allow me a consistent experience across all platforms and they perform well enough. I'm still liking Safari at the moment though... |

Isn't Firefox on 99/100 on the acid test? IE still has ground to make up then. |

Chrome FTW. It's going to take a lot to convince me to surrender my Fisher Price browser. |

Camino scores 72 on the Acid3 test, but it's still very usable and my everyday browser... Then again, the only JavaScript heavy sites I go on is Google based ones... |

What does the iPad score? Must be 100% obviously I assume, what with it being so shiny. |

Well it will use Safari so should be 100% compliant. |

Might be interesting when they release it. In the mean time, I've gone back to Opera from Firefox, which is proving quite good. |

I just tried IE8, it scored 20. Firefox 3.6.6 got 94, Chrome 5 scored 100. |

Considering it has improved by around 60 points in the last 2 months, that isn't bad, considering it is a pre-alpha... |

Yes and it shows that Microsoft are trying to comply with common standards again. Which is the best news of all. |
