Yeah, the glasses are awful. I'd never buy a TV or anything else that needs glasses. I tried 3D cinema once, it doesn't really work, at least for me, so I won't bother again.

IMHO 3D tv will never reach maturity in the market until thy crack the need to wear the glasses. I'm probably so totally wrong with that statement ............ :? :D

Nintendo are knocking it because they have a 3D version of the Nintendo DS either out now or coming soon, which does not need glasses. And apparently it works rather well. So they can knock the glasses model because they can.

Problem with glasses - if you already wear glasses, you need to balance two pairs on your nose. I do 't see clip on filters being offered by Sony et al.

Don't we already have 3D cinema?

It's called real life.

Whatever happened to VR goggles/glasses? If you need to wear something then why not them, as long as the resolution is adequate. Could they also do away with the need for corrective lenses?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I thought that was just a 3D MMORPG?

You could if you had simple focussing problems, but there are more complex corrections that need more work - astigmatisms, for example. Simply "pulling focus" won't work - you need to grind the lens to correct the picture by distorting it.

This is a problem I have with 3D cinema. I need to wear two glasses, and it's just fiddly.

But if you are religious when hasn't a games designer put in the odd cheat code? ;)
